Everyday
A BACKPACK​

A non-spillproof water bottle

A healthy Lunch

​We are stewards of the land and strive for a zero-waste lunch.

Please pack snacks and lunch in reusable containers.

Limit processed foods that come in foil or plastic wrapping.

Each student must pack out anything in their lunch, including organic waste (banana peels, apple cores, etc.), plastic bags and wrappers, plasticware, foil bags, leftover food, etc.

1-2 complete sets of extra clothes
-
(pants, shirt, underwear, shoes, and socks in a waterproof bag/ or dry bag.
-
*For cold weather, the extra socks MUST BE WOOL.

Also, extra waterproof gloves and a hat are needed in cold weather.

Sun hat

Sunblock

Insect repellent (seasonal)

Apply sunblock every day before drop off. Each student’s sunblock and insect repellent should be labeled with their first and last name. Teachers can assist with re-applying throughout the day as needed.

Extra layer- sweatshirt, jacket, fleece, etc.

Fitted garden gloves (warm weather only) provide a better grip for logs and sticks and help prevent pokes, scrapes, and splinters.

Umbrellas are an injury risk to self and others and inhibit play. Children are not allowed to bring umbrellas from home.

We recommend a long-sleeved, lightweight shirt in cotton, hemp, or summer-weight wool.

Long, lightweight pants
-
While wearing long sleeves and pants or using wool products in warm weather might seem counterproductive, they protect against the sun, bugs, tall, scratchy plants, scrapes, and other natural risks.

A large sun hat that covers the face, neck, and ears.

Running or hiking shoes.

Dress shoes or dressy boots, flip flops, ballet-like shoes, crocs, or sandals are not allowed.

​Exceptions to Crocs or close-toed sandals might arise on a case-by-case basis.​

Warm Weather
Cold & Wet Weather

A base or inner layer made from smart wool or fleece for both the upper and lower body.
-
We recommend two pairs of waterproof mittens. They should have side zippers for easy on and off and longer fabric around the wrist area to keep out cold and snow.

Waterproof, cold-weather snow or ski pants. We recommend fleece-lined bibs for an added layer of warmth.

A waterproof, windproof, cold weather insulated jacket with a hood.

Wool socks

A warm hat that covers the ears

Waterproof, cold weather insulated boots. We recommend Bogs, Kamik, Klondik, or Baffin.​

Rainboots are not appropriate for snowy weather. Please use snow boots when temperatures are below 35 degrees.​
