Meet Our Lead Play Facilitator and Founder

Trisha loves the outdoors and sharing it with others

Trisha Sejas

Founder, Director and lead teacher

I am excited to share my wonder and curiosity about the natural world with your student(s). My love of the outdoors began early in my life, befriending toads, worms, and other interesting creatures. I truly felt a sense of intrigue and astonishment for the natural world. My interest in nature only blossomed as I aged into adulthood.

My first college degree emphasized parks and natural resources, which paved the way for diverse jobs and settings across the country (and internationally). It also gave me the privilege of connecting young children, youth, and even adults to nature and all its splendor. I have been an environmental educator, teaching in and about nature for more than twenty years.

In 2016, I received my master’s degree in teaching Biological Science. The idea to open a forest school was born through my grad schoolwork and specialized projects. A few years after I received my master’s degree, I began working at a Waldorf School. As I immersed myself in the ways of Waldorf, I noticed many parallels between my aspirations to connect young children to nature and the Waldorf philosophies. I feel so blessed to have been part of a Waldorf team and will be integrating Waldorf practices into Nurtured by Nature.

In the fall of 2022, I earned my Early Childhood Teaching Certificate.

Now, with a diverse background in environmental education and best practices for Early Education, I am excited to open Nurtured by Nature Outdoor Exploratory School.
